Christmas RerunJohn 1:29, "The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!" NKJVAnyone who knows me knows that my favorite TV program of all times is the Andy Griffith program. When I turn the channel to watch an episode Sandra will say, "Why do you watch this? You have seen it a thousand times. You've memorized all the lines." My response is simple, "I love it." I could watch Barney attempt to quote the Preamble every day. There is nothing like a good wholesome rerun.Another rerun that I dearly love is the story of Jesus. Believers love to hear this story told over and over again. The story of the birth of Christ, His sinless life on earth, and His death on the cross for our sins is always a delight to hear again. An old song says, "Tell me the old, old story.... Tell me once again about His love." A missionary was leaving an island after a short visit. A little child ran to the gate and grabbed the missionary as he was boarding the plane. The little child asked a riveting question: "Tell me His name again." What a joy it is to repeat His name and His story countless times.Has the story of Jesus grown stale in your heart? Have you lost the lump in your throat when you hear about His death, burial, and resurrection? I have this challenge for you today. Take a few moments and visit the manger. Look at the babe who gave up all the splendor of heaven for you. Visit Calvary and look into the face of your Savior who suffered all the agony for your sins. Take time to walk by the empty tomb where they buried Him. After these visits you will want to hear the story again. Soon you will be telling the story with the same passion you once had."I love to tell the Story, 'tis pleasant to repeat!"think on these thingsDr. David HammondsSardis Baptist ChurchPalmetto, Georgia
