It's My PleasurePhilippians 1:23-24, "For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better. Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you." NKJVRecently I have witnessed people going out of their way to serve others. One lady ran half-way across the parking lot at Wally's World (Wal-Mart) just to retrieve a ball that a child had dropped. You should have seen the smile on her face when she handed that ball to the little girl's mom. After being thanked she told the mom she was glad to do it. At the hospital a mother dropped her baby's coat. Four people went out of their way to alert the mom to the dropped coat. Even at Chick-fil-A the associates respond to the customers with: "It's my pleasure." Some people have found the real joy of living. Living and serving others rather than themselves is what these folks have enjoyed.Paul's words to the Philippian church ring true for the believer today. We are not here on this earth to fulfill selfish ambitions and pursuits. We are here to serve our Master and the people we encounter. It should be the delight of every believer to be a servant to those around us. Life is so short, and selfishness makes it shorter. The privilege to serve others is a blessed thing. Our Lord set the precedent. He came to give His life for us. Our duty now is to give our lives to Him in service. That service will be revealed through service to our fellow man.Are you all wrapped up in yourself? Do you think of others? Do you look for opportunities to help those around you? Does it bring a smile on your face to help someone? Look around today. I am sure there is someone in your life that is lonely, hurting, confused, bereaved, unsaved, or maybe just having a bad day. Take a moment to pray an intercessory prayer for them. Then find a way to show your love and service to them. You will end up saying, "It's my pleasure."What-a-Ya Have?!!!
