Mind Reader? The Guardian, a British daily newspaper, reported on February 9, 2007 that a team of scientists has determined that reading brain waves can reveal a person's intentions. Literally, if this report is true, science has determined a way to read the mind and determine what you intend to do or want to do before you even do it.Of course, we knew this could be done. Jesus did it long ago, for the Bible states that he read the intentions of people or he knew what they were thinking. Read Luke 5:22; Luke 6:8; John 2:25; John 21:17. Read also Psalm 44:21. The Lord knows what we are thinking each moment of each day. And, He further knows that what we think about is what we will become. Our thoughts are the seeds of our actions.I saw an actor being interviewed on television the other day. I arrived at the channel with my remote control in the middle of the interview so I did not get his name. Since I very seldom see a movie, I didn't know him. But, I was fascinated by his comments. He said that he had grown up in a rough community and got involved in crime as a child. He was arrested over 20 times. He was sent to prison for a couple months and decided he was on the wrong path for his life. Then he said, "I decided to return to my faith. I was raised in a religious home but I had gotten away from that." He eventually began acting and apparently now has an outstanding career. He made one further comment that every young person needs to hear. He said, "I used to listen to rap music all the time. But, I recently stopped doing that. It was filling my mind with the same thoughts that led me astray when I was younger. So, I started listening to Christian music and Christian radio. It brings me peace and fills my mind with the right kind of thoughts."If God read our minds today, would he find wholesome thoughts there or thoughts engendered by the world. If you open your mind to the wrong things, you will become what you allow inside. It doesn't take a mind reader to figure that out!Dr. J. Mike MinnixEditorwww.pastorlife.com
