Careless

Psalm 19:13, "Keep back Your servant also from presumptuous sins; Let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, And I shall be innocent of great transgression." NKJVA friend told me this story. He works in a machine shop. One day a job order came down for the man running the machine next to him. It was a job that would require his machine to be cleaned. The man eager to do a good job quickly decided to clean his machine while it was still running. You guessed it. As he was cleaning the rollers that would feed the machine, his glove was caught in the rollers. It pulled his hand into the machine. He was able to save his hand but lost some fingers. This man was an experienced machinist. He had operated that machine for many years. He just grew careless. What a shame!Sometimes in our walk with the Lord we grow careless. We let little things creep into our lives. We don't maintain the careful walk we did when we first were saved. We take chances with sin that we would not normally take. Yes, the Lord forgives, but the results of our carelessness may cost more than we want to pay. Our desire should be like King David's. Keep us away from the careless sins so that we don't get caught up in the BIG sin.Have you been careless lately? Have you let some secret sins back into your life? Do what I am doing today. Examine your life. Take inventory. Then confess your carelessness. Allow Christ to cleanse you. Start fresh today with a new determination to live a pure, holy life. You will be glad you did. The disaster of sin will not be lurking in your life any longer.Warning Labels are our friends!!think on these thingsDavid HammondsSardis Baptist ChurchPalmetto, Georgia
