Have You Seen God?1 John 4:12, “No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another , God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.” NKJV1 John 4:12, “No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another , God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.” NKJVA few days ago I conducted the funeral for a great lady in our church. The service was blessed, but at the cemetery my heart was blessed even greater. The son of this lady, a gentleman in his thirties, noticed that his mother's best friend was standing with other friends outside the tent at the grave. Right before the committal service, the son was sitting with the family under the tent. Suddenly, he stood up. I wondered where he was going. He went to his mom's best friend, took her by the hand, and led her to the seat where he had been sitting. I choked back the tears. What a gesture!! His love for his mother compelled him to demonstrate love to his mother's best friend. When I saw that I saw God.People are looking for God. They are searching desperately for Him. So many people are looking in the wrong place for God. Larry Wynn, pastor of Hebron Baptist Church, Dacula, GA, tells us that the world does not need more of our songs or our sermons; they need to see us living the life of Christ in their world. He is right. People are searching for God, but they don't see Him. They need to see the love of Christ demonstrated in our lives. Touching someone's life through a small gesture, a card, a phone call, a helping hand are ways we can reveal God to our hurting world. Sometimes a simple smile or "hello" may be the touch someone needs. Are you looking for God? Do you know someone who is looking for God? God is all around us. He is working in the lives of the believers who will let Him live through them. Today, if you are looking for Him, watch out for loving people. If the Lord abides in your life, show Him off today. Let someone feel His loving touch through you. You may be the one God uses to bring His reality and relationship in someone's life today. Call on the Lord, He is near. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you. Ask Him for sensitivity in situations where you can let the world see our God.Open the door!!!think on these thingsDavid HammondsSardis Baptist ChurchPalmetto, Georgia
