Good JobEphesians 6:7, "... with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men,..." NKJVI grew up in a middle-class family that believed in hard work. I was taught that every man's work was important, and that anything worth doing was worth doing right. I still hold to those qualities today. There are those who do not hold to these standards. Some people believe that certain people and certain jobs are more important. There are others who believe that their contribution to society is of greater value than others. It is a New Testament principle that in the operation of the local church even the "weaker" members are very important (1 Cor 12:22-24). As believers we should take the same principle into the world around us. We should give honor to all those who work. We should be careful to understand that all work is as unto the Lord. Every worker we meet should be given encouragement and high regard.Sometimes I meet people that think their jobs are not important. Every job is important. If you have been discouraged about your work, be encouraged. Let your work become a part of your Christian walk. Enjoy working, not for man, but for God. Let your job become an important part of your ministry. Do all that you do for the glory of God. You are His worker!!Please, do not "clock out"!think on these thingsDr. David HammondsSardis Baptist ChurchPalmetto, Georgia
