The Great QuestionWhat is the great question? After we die, shall we live again?Hundreds of years before the life of Christ the great Greek Philosopher Socrates readied himself to drink the poison hemlock and take his own life. His friends reportedly ask him before his death, "Socrates, shall we live again?"Socrates is reported to have answered, "I hope so! But, no man can know for sure."Ah, but let Christ answer the question. Jesus says, "Yes, you shall live for eternity. And, if you have accepted me as Lord and Savior, you have a place prepared personally by me as your residence in heaven."Terrorists are teaching people that if one dies a martyr's death within Islam an eternal life with Allah will follow - along with 72 virgins for companions. Weird! One has to ask, what do the women get who die a martyr's death within Islam? How can people believe some of the strange things taught within false religions? People are starving for some assurance of life after death. Because of this hunger for assurance, they take a wild leap of foolish faith. They want human pleasure to continue and be accentuated in their eternal home. But God offers eternal life far beyond human understanding. Eye has never seen, nor has any ear been able to hear all that God has prepared for those who are truly saved. There is only one way to heaven - Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:1-6). Earthly pleasures will fade and joys unspeakable and full of glory will be ours in our heavenly home! Men and women alike will enjoy the presence of the Lord forever. He will unfold his glory to us throughout eternity. Heaven just cannot be fully described in human terms. Not everyone will go to heaven. Enter at the Door - come to Jesus! Then enjoy abundant life here and an indescribable life in the world to come.Dr. J. Mike MinnixEditorPastorLife
