Mark Bowers has served as the Minister of Music and Worship at First Baptist Church in Thomson, Georgia since January of 2009. In addition to his service in Georgia he has served churches in South Carolina, Alabama and Texas. He has filled the pulpit in the absence of his pastor in a number of the churches he has served and enjoys sharing the hope of Christ through the spoken word as well as through music. Mark grew up in Elba, Alabama. He received his Bachelor of Music from Samford University in 1986 and his Master of Music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1991. He is married to the former Becky Ginn of Thomasville, Alabama and they are the parents of Bethany-Grace, age 13, and Hannah, age 11.
