Has served in pastoral ministry in Southern Baptist churches since 1982, except for the time he served with the International Mission Board (1989 to 1997). In Chile, Richard worked to support and to start churches during my first term. During the second term, he taught missions and church history. Richard has an MDiv with a major in biblical studies and a PhD. in missiology both from NOBTS. He has taught as an adjunct for several baptist colleges and for SBTS. Currently he is an assistant professor of Christian Ministries and the director of the Hugh F. Davis Center for Ministry Education
