BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

DR. TODD MORRIS

Dr. Morris was born in Dade County Florida, but moved to North Carolina as an infant. He received his early education in the public schools of North Carolina, and upon graduation from High School enrolled at Campbell University, (a North Carolina Baptist college), where he received the Bachelors of Arts degree in Religion. He then furthered his education at Luther Rice Seminary receiving both the Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees from that institution.

Dr. Morris has served as a Baptist pastor for over 26 years, serving churches in North and South Carolina. He has served as the Senior Pastor of the Abney Baptist Church in Kershaw, SC since the year 2000. During that period of time the rural church has baptized over 200 people (243 at this writing), built a new worship facility, and increased receipts by approximately 100%, and started a small Bible College offering evening classes to pastors who cannot leave their jobs or ministries to continue their education.

Dr. Morris has served in many leadership positions within Southern Baptist life. On the SBC level he has served as a member of the Committee on Nominations and as a Trustee of the Christian Life Commission. On the State Convention level he has served as a Trustee of the Christina Action League of North Carolina, the Nominating Committee of the South Carolina Baptist Convention, and two and a half terms as a Trustee of Anderson University, owned by the South Carolina Baptist Convention. He has held numerous positions in various local Associations.

Dr. Morris is in demand as a Revivalist and Conference Speaker, and was a keynote speaker at the 2006 Tennessee Baptist Convention Pastors Conference. Dr. Morris also serves as President and Professor of Biblical Studies for South Atlantic Bible College, a ministry of Abney Baptist Church.

He is married to the former Terry Annette Courtney and they have two sons: Zachary and Joshua.
