Mr John Ecob is the second son of the late Pastor Russell Ecob. He was born at Leeton NSW 28/2/33.

John was savingly converted to Jesus Christ under his father's preaching on the 1st August 1948 in the Hurstville Baptist Church. From the very beginning he committed his life to Christ and began preparing for whatever service the Lord should choose.

For many years he was involved in open air preaching, open air Sunday schools, and lay preaching through the Lay Preachers Association in Sydney Australia.
While indentured as an apprentice in engineering drafting, he completed 2 years at the Sydney Bible Night School under the ministry of T.R. Ford BA.

On completion of his apprenticeship he served one year as a student in Evangelist John Ridley's Australian Institute of Evangelism, one year at the NSW Baptist Theological College and one year as pastor of the Balmain Baptist Church.

He returned to engineering studies with the Institution of Structural Engineers UK, and was employed in the design and construction industry as Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Chief Estimator, Design Manager, Marketing Manager, Consultant, and finally concluding his secular career as General Manager of The First Australia/China Consortium which was formed to take the Australian Construction Industry into Mainland China. He has lectured in Marketing Seminars at New South Wales University.

Throughout the years of secular employment he fellowshipped at Bankstown Gospel Hall, Condell Park Bible Church, Orange Independent Baptist Church and presently is in happy fellowship at the Orange Gospel Chapel when not involved in conference ministry for the Herald of Hope.

Mr Ecob has had a heavy preaching schedule through the years while employed as an engineer, and Business Development Manager, preaching and teaching in Churches and Bible Colleges up to 210 times annually.

In 1998 he was invited to be the Editor of the Herald of Hope Magazine which has been Australia's leading Bible Prophecy Publication since 1948. He has visited Israel on two occasions and presently joins with Peter Jackson and John Farr in conference ministry for the Herald of Hope across Australia and overseas. A number of publications have been produced by him including The Story of Mr Eternity, six booklets entitled Keys to Bible Prophecy, Amillennialism Weighed and Found Wanting, and The Bible Prophecy Handbook. The last two of these publications have been submitted and accepted as a thesis by the European Theological Seminary for a doctorate. Since then he has written , SDAs Weighed and Found Wanting and Preterism, Weighed and Found Wanting. He is presently concluding a book entitled, Tongues Shall Cease.

Mr Ecob is conservative in his theology, dispensational-premill. in eschatology, non-charismatic, and Bible centred. His desire is to effectively serve the Lord Jesus Christ till He comes.
