Cell Phone And Bible

Title: Cell Phone And Bible
Subject: Bible
Darwin’s Theory,

What would your life be without a cell phone? Even if you do not have one, I would guess you call a cell phone from time to time. What if we treated our Bibles like we do our cell phone? A recent email forward started me thinking about this question.

We would carry it around in our purses or pockets. We would turn back to go get it if we forgot it. When we do forget, it would bother us and we would check it as soon as we were reunited with it. We would flip through the Bible several times a day if we treated it like our cell phone. We would use it to receive messages from the text. We would actually be treating the Bible like we couldn't live without it. We would be giving it to kids as gifts. As students, we would be taking it to school even if it was against the rules. We would be taking it with us as we traveled for security out on the road. We would definitely use it in case of an emergency, and it would save us from many emergencies. We would upgrade it to get the latest version and best model for the most use.

It is a shame we can find our cell phone but have to look for our Bible. The Bible is the very word of God. It is “a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:5). It is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). It is inspired by God and is useful in all areas of life (2 Timothy 3:16). It will keep us from sin (Psalm 119:11) and sin will keep us from it (1 Samuel 15:23). It is way more valuable than our cell phone, no matter how we treat it. It is never out of date. Unlike our cell phone, we don't ever have to worry  about our Bible being disconnected...because Jesus already paid the bill (Colossians 2:14)!
