Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. NKJV
I overheard a fellow encouraging his friend to enter a certain contest. The friend replied, "I have never won anything in my life." When I heard that I thought about how many times I have heard that response. Many Christians would offer the same answer. The concept of winning is strange. For many it means gaining some material treasure. For others it is the achievement of superiority.
Winning for the believer is not gaining things or superiority, it is living in the victory Christ has provided. He alone defeated sin and Satan. If you are a child of God you have already won. You are a winner!!! You and I have the advantage of living the life of victory. Don't fall for the world's idea of winning. Achievements and possessions are temporary at best. You have won the victory forever.
This may be your day to feel like a loser. I have those days myself. Some days we feel defeated and discouraged. If this is your day, think about this. When a golfer wins the Masters Tournament in Augusta, GA he receives a green jacket. After he has won they have a ceremony where they put the green jacket on him. Today I want you to imagine you are standing right beside the Lord. He has won the victory for you and now He places the winner's jacket on you. You have won the contest!!!! Praise the Lord.
