The Greatest Calling
What a great calling it is to be used of God. Whether you are a pastor, missionary, evangelist, church staff member, or a lay person in a church, if you are being used by God, that is a wonderful honor. The older I grow, the more I want to leave something behind when I am gone to carry on my goals and passions.
What greater way than to leave a trail of souls behind that you have won to the Lord. Recently I was surfing the web and ran across a website that caught my attention. I went to the website and found a site that defended the faith that we have long loved. I enjoyed reading the articles and studies on the site. When I got to the bottom, I found the author of the site; it was a man that I had won to Christ when he was just a teenager in my church in Wisconsin. What a thrill it was to see my ministry carried on by one of my converts.
In New Jersey there is a preacher today that was saved under my ministry, faithfully preaching the gospel. In another state there are teenagers serving the Lord, now in their late 40''s that were saved in my church. In Kansas there are a number of people faithfully serving the Lord that I had the privilege of leading to Christ.
There's nothing more precious than serving the King of the universe. There's nothing greater than doing the work of our precious savior. And there's nothing greater than winning people to Christ that will carry our work on after we are gone. Soul winning is the greatest work any Christian can do while on this earth, and it lasts far into the future when we are with the Lord.
Praise the Lord for the privilege of winning souls.
