1 Corinthians 13:3, "And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing." NKJV
"People are selfish" is a phrase that I recently heard in a seminar. I am not sure if that is absolute but it gives reason for concern. Selfish people are very lonely and empty. "You can make more friends by being interested in them than trying to have them be interested in you." (Zingers, p.116). This world needs no more selfish people but more selfless people.
As a believer the greatest joy is to live out the life and love of Jesus. He so loved us that He died in our place. The opportunities of friendship are too valuable for us to be self-centered.
Find a friend and give your valuable time to them. Show them a genuine interest. Give them attention and admiration. Watch the value of your life explode. You will find a new depth to your relationship with Christ when you give yourself away. He did it for us, it is the least we can do for Him.
