Love Endures
1 Corinthians 13:4, "Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; (13) And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." NKJV
My brother recently ran the Mercedes Marathon in Birmingham. The race was 26 K. He ran it to identify with Sandra's cancer. He wanted to feel her pain. He shared with us that there were times in the race that he nearly gave up. On one occasion his legs just simply would not work. He had to take his hands and make his legs move. All the time he was thinking of Sandra. He prayed that God would give him a taste of her suffering. What a brother!!! When we suffer it is to identify with Jesus. No one will ever know how much He loves us until they endure great suffering.
We rejoice in the Lord's enduring love for us. The song says, "No one ever cared for me like Jesus." The believer can live in the knowledge that Christ's love for us never subsides. He always feels our pain and He is always here. Not a moment goes by that He does not share our sorrow and struggles.
Don't lose hope. Christ suffered on the cross to help you carry your burdens. Let His love settle your doubts and fears. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He knows your heartache and His love endures. Wrap yourself in God's love today. The security you feel will drive away the loneliness.
