Inexpressible

1 Peter 1:7, “That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,” NKJV

I watched the bride as she came down the isle. Her lips were quivering. Her face was beaming. Her smile was glowing. Her breathing was irregular. She had a tight grip on her dad's hand. He was whispering words of encouragement to her. Her appearance made you think she was going to lose it and bust out crying. Not sorrowful crying, joyful crying. It seemed that the joy in her heart was more than she could stand. Her joy was inexpressible.

Peter writes to those in trouble and tribulation. His encouragement to them is to enjoy the moments. Live your life, though troubled and tried, with inexpressible joy. Too many Christians are "down." The joy of HIS salvation no longer produces that inexpressible joy. There are those believers that are always negative. No joy is found in their lives. God''s plan for saving us was not to make us miserable, but delightful.

What characterizes your life? Is it a life of inexpressible joy? Is it a life that sees God working good in everything? Or is it a life that is full of complaints, negative thoughts, negative comments, and aggravation? When salvation comes into a life it brings joy. If you have lost your joy, call on the Savior today. He has an abundant supply. Take a moment out of this "hustle and bustle" and let God bring quivering lips, irregular breathing, and a glowing smile to a life that can impact this world.
