In His Arms
Isaiah 40:11, “He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young.” NKJV
The sight of a shepherd carrying his sheep is a tender sight. The shepherd builds a close, intimate relationship with each sheep. Sometimes when a one of the fold is sick or hurt the shepherd will place the lamb over his shoulder to carry it while it heals. On some occasions the loving shepherd will place the lamb inside his coat and carry the lamb next to his body. The heat from the shepherd aids in the healing process.
I don't know one Christian that has not needed the Shepherd in this way. Every believer goes through moments of trials and testing. There are hurts that cannot be healed with the counsel of a friend. Some hurts take the kindness and closeness of the Good Shepherd, Jesus.
Is today your day to hurt? Is your life full of suffering? Let the Kind Shepherd pick you up. Let Him place you near His bosom. Feel His tender arms hold you. He loves these moments. He loves the times that you need Him desperately. Reach out to Him today. Find a quiet place, call on His name, and feel His arms of love caress you back to good health.
