James 4:8 "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." NKJV

Our daughter, Alison, has been a University of North Carolina fan since the day she was born. She even has a UNC Tarheel tag on the front of her Civic. A couple of weeks ago she moved to Athens, GA to work on her Master's degree in Social Work. Since she lives in Athens, you guessed it, she is attending the University of Georgia. My question to her was, "Will you become a DAWG?" She will remove the tag from her car. She will probably attend some football games. She will even cheer for the Bulldogs, but I doubt seriously that she will ever stop being a UNC Tarheel fan.

The Savior's love is never questioned by a Christian. Every believer knows how rich and full the Christian walk can be. Why is it that we sometimes lose our loyalty to Christ? Why do we find ourselves occasionally being attracted to the things of this world? We know our friendship with the world produces a double mind. We know that it is an insult to the grace of God. James knew this tendency when he penned our verse today.

When we let our walk with Christ decline we will find ourselves attracted to other things. Our only option is to cleanse our hands and purify our hearts. We must draw near to the Savior and ask for renewed fellowship. Are you there today? Have you stopped cheering about grace? Have you drifted away from your friendship with God? Right now, call on Him and join the team again. We need you on our side.

Go War Eagles!!

Think on these things.

Editor's Note: I was born and raised in North Carolina, and I have to say that David's daughter (the Tarheel fan) is certainly an extremely intelligent young lady!
